Developers plan
4-acre fun site Waterfront play area to expand
Waterfront Park’s one-acre playground has been so popular that some of
its equipment has had to be replaced because of heavy use. The Waterfront
Development Corp. hopes to build on that success with a new $2 million,
four-acre Adventure Playground that will be a centerpiece of the
first leg of the planned Waterfront Park expansion.

A
relatively new Louisville company has been making news lately by
forging alliances with some large players in a new technology field.
Stonestreet One Inc. has jumped into Bluetooth development and won
contracts with Ericsson Microelectronics and Philips Semiconductor,
as well as a Japanese electronics firm, Taiyo Yuden USA.
Executives
of two Louisville Internet service providers say a bill being debated
in Congress could strike a fatal blow to most companies in their
industry. The internet freedom and broadband deployment bill could
spell the end of small- and mid-sized local and regional ISPs in
two to five years.
Before
last year's dom-com disaster, small business owners were told the
Internet was the place to be. Now the Web doesn't look so attractive,
but there are still opportunities. One approach is to search for
an untapped market.
