floor of the Main Street elevation.
Elevators and stairwells have also been installed. Tenant
fit-ups will be ready by October 1, 2001.
Carlysle Building
The building is now at full capacity
with Adhawk leasing 2,500 square feet. Adhawk should be open for
business by early August, 2001.
An
$11 million, seven-floor building with space for retailing, offices
and four large condominiums will be constructed at Preston and Main
streets, just west of Louisville Slugger Field. The developer, PM
Partners LLC, plans to begin construction next month and complete
the project in about a year. It will have about 85,000 square feet
of space, plus four 2,500-square-foot condos. Although several old
buildings have been renovated along East Main under Armstrong's
eMain program, this will be the first major new construction

Waterfront Park
featured in magazine
Waterfront Park
is featured in a nine-page article in the July issue of Landscape
Architecture magazine. The
article, which includes numerous color photos of the park, focuses
on how George Hargreaves, a San Francisco designer, developed his
scheme for the park's master plan. It also discusses the river's history and its
importance to Louisville and how the park has spurred new downtown
development.

Waterfront agency to sell naming rights for expansion
Turning
to a fund-raising technique that has helped build athletic arenas
across the country, the Waterfront Development Corp. intends to
sell naming rights to raise money for the $40 million expansion
of Waterfront Park. Decisions on who gets to name what, and for
how much, will be left to the agency's board of directors. But under
guidelines adopted by the agency's directors last week, corporations
or individuals who give at least $1 million will be eligible to
get their name on features such as the ''Little Lawn,'' an amphitheater
or playground planned in the park's second phase.
