Winery, other retail planned on East Market
A local couple is renovating an aging, 14,000-square-foot building at 829 E. Market Street and have plans to convert it into the home of Felice Vineyards LLC, a company that will produce and sell fine wines. Plans call for the first floor of the three-story building to house the winery's vats and fermentation room, which would be visible from street level; a tasting area; a gift shop and space for retail sales. The basement would be the wine cellar. Tentative plans for the second floor include two professional offices and/or art gallery or studio and a residential area on the third floor. Renovation of the winery is expected to be completed by late summer.

    Distinctive design takes shape
Work on the $11.1 million Preston Pointe, at Preston and Main Streets, which began a year ago is expected to be completed in September 2003. The distinctive roofline, which slopes sharply from a spear-like apex, gives Preston Pointe an appearance unlike any other building in downtown Louisville. The ground floor will have 17,000 square feet of retail or other commercial space. Floors two through five will be offices, with a total of about 68,000 square feet. And two-level condominiums with 2,000 to 2,600 square feet of space and a terrace, will be on levels six and seven.
